KOD’s very own DAPHNE DU MAURIER AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN MYSTERY/SUSPENSE is open for entries until March 15th at 11:59PM (MDT).
There are both Published and Unpublished divisions. A few categories are full as of this time. Please visit the website at http://www.rwamysterysuspense.org/daphne for more information. For any questions, contact Daphne Contest Chairman, Brooke Wills, at daphnecontest@gmail.com
And now, please put your hands together for the following KOD-members, who have good news to share:
Marta Perry is pleased to say that HQN will be reissuing one of her Amish suspense novellas as a stand-alone e-book. FALLEN IN PLAIN SIGHT will be available in April.
Silver James is excited to announce her panel SITUATIONAL AWARENESS: STAYING SAFE IN AN UNSAFE WORLD was picked for RWA San Diego 2016. With a background in the fire service and law enforcement, Silver will present a hands-on class encompassing frank discussions about safety and defense, along with exercises designed to help make you safer in public, the workplace, and at home.
Tracy Brody just found out that IN THE WRONG SIGHTS, third in her Bad Karma Special Ops series, is a finalist in the romantic suspense category in The Great Expectations contest. She also finished editing her 2015 Golden Heart winning manuscript and sent it off to her agent. Time for a glass of wine and a good suspense book!
Tameri Etherton is pleased that she hasn’t killed anyone this week. Apparently she wanted to, but controlled herself, and I think we can all agree that’s a good thing.
And Brenda Davis is happy dancing because the Daphne du Maurier unpublished division is not closed for entries for mainstream and single title. A couple of categories in the published division are maxed out, however, so if you’re thinking of entering the Daphne, better not wait too long, or it might be too late.
And that’s what we have for this week. Have a great weekend, and enjoy the Superbowl, if tight ends are your thing.
Last week’s quote wasn’t easy. Did you figure it out without Google? How about this one? “Even cowards can endure hardship; only the brave can endure suspense.”
