Please join us in cheering for the following KOD-members, who have good news to report:

Linda Harris attended the Killer Nashville crime writers conference this past weekend, and at one of the round tables, agent Cate Hart from the Corvisiero Literary Agency requested her romantic suspense when completed. FATAL MELODY is set in small town Tennessee.

Linda has been a member of KOD for a long time and most of the time she lurks in the shadows. She is so excited to be able to step out and share this news with everyone!

And also from the Killer Nashville conference:

Terry Odell‘s short story collection, SEEING RED: From the Case Files of James T. Kirkland, won the Silver Falchion award in its category at Killer Nashville. She’s stoked because the other finalists included CJ Box, Jeffery Deaver, and Craig Johnson.

BLINDING FATE, the second book in her Role of Fate series was released today. Here’s the blurb:

Fate can blindside you in an instant.

In one blinding moment Meg Johnson went from successful chef to woman running for her life. No friends. No relationships. Don’t even leave the house if you don’t have to. Meg has stayed under the radar because she abides by these rules—mostly. When her elderly landlord and only friend in town is missing, she has no choice but to break yet another rule and answer the questions of the policeman who comes to her door.

Tyler McMann’s life changed forever because of one secret. He knows as soon as he sets foot on Meg’s front porch that she has secrets of her own. He can’t allow himself to become involved with a woman who’s clearly hiding something, but he can’t deny the attraction between them either. Can he learn to trust Meg, and can he trust fate to lead him down the path he’s meant to travel?

Silver James is excited to announce the release of the 3rd book in her award-winning Urban Fantasy series, The Penumbra Papers. THE DEVIL’S CUT is currently available in digital format and will soon be available in trade paperback.

For more information, check out Silver’s website: http://silverjames.com/penumbra-papers/the-devils-cut/

And of course, here’s the blurb:

The Devil’s in the details…

What do two werewolf teens missing in the New Mexico desert, a stolen pouch of Native American fetishes, and a drug lord calling himself El Diablo have in common? Undercover FBI Agent Caleb Jones would sure like to find out. The trail leads to Denver where CSI Adele McCoy is investigating the cases of two diabolically murdered men and the pouch of Native American fetishes discovered at one of the crime scenes. She doesn’t believe in magic, but the whole situation gives her a creepy supernatural vibe she can’t deny.

And the Devil always gets his cut…

When their cases collide, Caleb and Adele are soon running for their lives—and fighting an attraction that threatens to combust. Hot on their trail is Caleb’s best friend, Special Agent Sade Marquis. She’s bound and determined to find the wayward werewolf. Death is a dialogue, love hurts, and you don’t know the measure of a man—or a woman—until it’s time to pay the Devil his due. In this Case from the Shadow’s Edge, it might just be a werewolf and the woman he loves who pay the price.

Karen Sue Burns has jumped off the romance train with the release of her political thriller, CAPITOL SECRETS, book one of the Capitol Intrigue Series.

A U.S. President is shot in the U.S. Capitol’s House Chamber via a drone, and the first female president is thrust into the Oval Office. Capitol Secrets is a tightly woven tale of an ineffectual and corrupt Washington, and the struggles of a new White House administration attempting to initiate a constructive change to Capitol Hill’s business as usual tradition. Do the American people have any hope that Washington politics will transform and their elected officials actually do the work?

And finally, Jenna Bennett is proud to announce the release of OVERCOME, a spinoff novella from her Sex on the Beach new adult suspense series, which was previously included in the Protect & Serve bundle, but which is now available as a (very short) book in its own right.

For anyone who’s read BEFORE YOU and FINDING YOU, and who has wondered what might have happened to Carmen Fuentes after the events of those two books, here’s the answer:

The last thing Carmen Fuentes wants, is another encounter with a rapist.

She couldn’t get away from Key West fast enough after the trial of Stan Laszlo. Attending the Miami Police College gave her time away from her hometown—away from the stares and whispers, from the pity and the people who thought she’d probably done something to bring it on herself. It also gave her a chance to get on her feet again, to find purpose to her life and some meaning in what happened to her.

But when she envisioned a future in which she helped catch other predators before they could hurt other women, she’d seen herself doing it from a safe distance, behind a desk at the Key West Precinct. Not dressing up in the kind of skimpy outfit she hasn’t worn since before the trial, and hitting the Miami nightspots trying to catch the attention of a serial rapist.

Yet that’s exactly what Detective Will Murphy offers. A chance to help catch a sexual predator, and to prove—to Will and herself—that when she took the oath to serve and protect, she wasn’t just mouthing words.

But can Carmen handle the job? Can she trust Will to have her back? And can she put the past behind her and move toward the future, a future that might include Will?
