13 is a Lucky Number

Susan C. Muller’s latest indie book, Time to Run, a mystery with a possible romance later on, will be released on June 23. It will be her lucky 13th publication.

When Jax Duncan witnesses a mob execution, she becomes the next target for the hit man and the prime suspect for the FBI. After hiding out for four years she has been discovered. Now she must run again, only this time she has and added burden . . . a wounded FBI agent who depends on her to keep him alive until he’s well enough to arrest her.

Beta Feedback

From Una Medina Olmsted, Ph.D.: I passed my first newbie milestone this month at the conclusion of phase one of reader beta tests. Several readers asked me to write more about a certain character and insisted on knowing “What happens next?” I’m delighted to watch readers laugh at my humor writing. I’m thrilled to watch their eyes lock onto the page at the suspense sections. I’m challenged where readers stop reading and look up, confused. I’m grateful to learn exactly where the work requires improvement, areas of craft not developed in other forms of writing. There is a lot of room for improvement but the hints of future success are popping into reality. Pop! Pop!

The most satisfying feeling in the midst of the fizz and swirl of reader feedback is a dawning certainty that my first two works are real. Readers read them. I am read. Thank you, beta readers, for your gift of this basic and beginning validation. I am a fiction writer.
